P.E Days: Monday and Wednesday

Literacy & English

We are currently going over 3 sounds a week and are very busy getting our spelling and letter formation activities completed every day through active literacy. Every Thursday we have our Big Write along with daily 'sick sentences'. This helps us get better at adding full stops, capital letters, connectives and adjectives.

Talking and Listening skills are being developed everyday across the curriculum. We have focused on how to have a great group discussions.

We are working through group reading skills to develop our range of skills and strategies.

Numeracy & Maths

We practice our number skills everyday and play fun mental maths games as a class, counting in 1s, 10s and 2s forwards and backwards. We have been practising and developing our skills in number through looking at number bonds 1-10 and 1-20, using these to help us solve problems in our head. We are now starting to look at equal groupings of number for multiplication.

Health & Wellbeing

We have been exploring our rights as children through investigating SHANARRI indicators and identifying our own responsibilities that come with these.

Other topics

Social Studies - we have been learning all about the history and culture of Ancient Egypt and have even used Atlases to learn about the geography.

ICT - improving our typing skills and using Microsoft Office to create great looking word documents.

Homework given out on a Monday and to be collected on a Thursday. Phoneme work, reading skills and oral maths.
